Featured Custom Church Stained Glass Project: St. Edward’s
We’re honored to announce the recent completion of our custom church stained glass project in Pennsylvania. St. Edward’s Church was interested in creating a memorial piece to celebrate their recently passed pastor. They wanted to replace the big window that overlooked the street intersection in order to conceal this view during their services. After interviewing many studios about 2 years ago, they decided to go with our studio for this important project.
The Custom Church Stained Glass Construction Process for St. Edward’s
Due to the pandemic, we had to do work electronically instead of in person. We drew up several iterations of the tree of life design that the church initially wanted. However, during the design finalization process, our painted glass artist overheard Father Rick talking about doing a scene of Jesus on the Sea of Galilee for a future stained glass window because it was his favorite teaching from the Bible. She decided to create the design and present it to the church – they fell in love with the design and decided to choose this one instead. We wanted to capture a three-dimensional look, so our artist accomplished this through shading and painting. She also depicted a variety of different people with Jesus and created calming seas in order to show the calm after the storm. Despite the challenges of installation without removing the existing curtain wall, we were able to create a continuous piece.
