Our Featured Church Stained Glass Restoration Project

We’re honored to announce the completion of our recent church stained glass restoration project at The Rising Church. The Rising Church is located in Arvada, CO, and is renowned for its incredible homeless outreach and foodbank services. One evening after the church had closed, a pedestrian walking by had thought they heard noises coming from the empty church. They decided to throw rocks through most of the stained glass windows in an effort to stop whatever they believed was happening inside. Luckily, no one was inside the church but 90% of the windows were damaged.

The Rising Church Stained Glass Restoration Process

Our team carefully removed the windows and transported them back to our studio for restoration. We utilized custom glass blowing and found other pieces in our inventory for a perfect color match to any damaged glass. We then utilized a proprietary invisible glass mending technique for the hand-painted glass pieces. Once this was completed, new lead came was built. An additional challenge we faced was that the original windows were missing some of the lead framing in order to fit the church. We resized the windows and shaved some of them down on-site in order to create a structurally sound fit and installation. New polycarbonate was built with custom ventilation to provide a protective layer on the exterior of these stained glass windows. We also painted the exterior framing to freshen up the look.
